There’s a fair bit of truth in that. The club makes quite a lot of money these days but still approaches the market like it’s 2015. And when we do cough up reasonably significant transfer fees, it’s always on players from smaller clubs so we don’t have to pay them significant wages.

agree...... no point at all mentioning that DL should spend money.....
He never will spend the money required to be a consistent title challenger

It I already didn't justify before your post. I said we were terrible. Can’t be clearer than that

    But y
but you criticise me for saying we ain’t good enough. One win and you will be bigging us up again.Be honest do you think Ange is the man yes or no.Are you happy that we are 8th and behind Forest. What if we get stuffed by city reserves on Wednesday and Villa next Saturday and drop into bottom half then away at galatasary in Europe.Could be the making of the team but more likely to the final straw if it all goes tits up

I don’t criticise you for saying we arent good enough. I challenge your consistent need to find a way to put us down. Obviously that’s easy to do after this poor performance but you are referring to comments prior to the game, when on the back of good performances you decided to criticise another player .
Yes I think Ang can do well here, no I don’t think it’s going to happen overnight( btw I was against him coming). That’s my issue, I guess , you can’t just expect someone to come in and suddenly we win the league and go unbeaten. Look at Liverpool and Arsenal, it took klopp and artera a few years. We need to redevelop and slowly improve, I don’t get the negativity all the time. It’s not as if we were City winning every year and then Ang came in and we fell apart, we haven’t been a top table team for a while so it’s bewildering to expect results immediately. . Apart from today at least we gave started to get a Tottenham identity back

Last ten away games in premier league lost 6 drew 2 won 2 is that getting our identity back.I have said before that I have supported spurs for over 60 years through good and bad but never have I been so frustrated by the supporters who hang onto so little success as though it is the start of a wonderful new era. People quote Klopp and pep taking time to succeed but don’t you tell me that they did not show more promise and tactical nous than Ange and even arsenal won a cup in their first year of a new manager.I do think your optimism is commendable and hope it is rewarded but I cannot take Ange seriously until he shows less arrogance that his way is the only way.

Unless Levy goes. people said this about city until they changed ownership and look what happened.i can’t say that being owned by an oil millionaire fills me with joy but if you can’t beat them join them

    DL is going nowhere fast.....

so..... our manager has to make us challengers with all the same chaos that every other manager has failed with

Having said that....... Ange really does need to have a think about how teams have done well against us...... and build in a defence for those situations......
as that is part of his management responsibility

Man’s not capable. used to dominating in poor leagues like Scotland

Did you say the same thing about Nicholson? Because Ange pretty much embodies his philosophy … so I’m not sure what you’re railing about when it comes to the manager.

My gripe presently is that the club is taking its sweet time building this side. It’s all good buying/playing quality youngsters for the future but if that’s all you’ve got to hang your hat on then it’s going to be a long slog ahead. And that’s what it is unfortunately, and why I don’t get too worked up when we have average performances like yesterday.

We’ve switched managers too much in recent years. We need some stability now to try and build something.

You must be joking comparing this man with the greatest manager this club has ever had..Yes his push and run was superb but when did (Baker Norman McKay and Henry )defend like this team and we had Bill brown in goal.Midfield duo Blanchflower and White were a class above what we have now and Blanchflower was a proper leader.Up front Allen and Smith strong and mobile and 3 wingers all of them direct and goal scorers. We also had reserves such as Tommy harmer (pocket genius) Toni marchi who would walk in this team .After winning the double Nicholson persuaded the club to break the transfer record to sign Jimmy Greaves Canyou see Ange doing this with LevyFinally he had the best winger in the league with Jones who was spring heeled and the one player who would turn in his grave watching the lack of fight yesterday(Dave McKay)who later went on to inspire anther club to win the championship.Think again if you are serious about that comparison because Ange is not fit to lick his boots ask any body who watched that team .by the way I followed them that year home and away and for a few more years when circumstances allowed

I win a trophy in my second year he says then we buy young players who will take At least 2 to 3 years to be ready maybe for the premiership.I would like someone to tell me who made the decision to buy such young players Levy or Ange. The only time this was proved to work was United who were blessed with a batch of world class youngsters who don’t come around very often

See United have sacked Ten Hag and they have 2 points less than us and if they had not missed at least 6 easy chances against West Ham they would have been level with us..Mabe they will try lure Ange away.Ha Ha

I am amazed that I am the only one to comment on the ridiculous statement that Ange is in the same ball park as Bill Nicholson that’s like saying Ten Hag was similar to Alex Ferguson

I don’t think he was comparing him, he said he embodied his philosophy , not the same thing

Someone can embody a philosophy and still fail, I embody the same philosophy as Glen Hoddle when it comes to playing football but unfortunately feet don’t follow suit!

If you think Ange embodies Bill nick then you have never watched a Bill Nick team .He would never have fullbacks disappearing up field with no cover and they could pass to teammates I think your splitting hairs

Au contraire Preed, you are splitting hairs to look for an argument. Embodying a philosophy does not mean he sets up his team and plays in the same way as him. I get the feeling you are an intelligent person, so you probably do get that?
No team plays like a team from the 50’s or 60 s , the game has changed immensely Not sure why I am arguing for Angelos, guess , I’m just bored, but I believe it was a flippant remark implying that Ang is at least trying to play in the “Tottenham way”
