With the caveat that I only got to see the second half:

I believe Aurier to be a better wing-back than Tanganga so a bit surprising that Tanganga was the one to start as the wing-back on the right.
There are players who appear to thrive in derby/grudge-matches. Lamela and Alli seem to be examples of those kind of players. Lamela is a player who might get himself sent-off and might not yet be match-fit so not starting him might have been the right choice. Alli hasn't been great lately so not starting him might also have been the right choice.

I fully agree with you that they are really repetitive and extremely negative. You are right to ignore them, it's your prerogative. Some comments are the divisive "you don't agree with me, you are ridiculous" type. Yet those finds it ridiculous when they feel someone is trying to tell them what they can or can't say. When someone sees a positive, these people will tell you how high their standards are and how low yours are.

I stumbled across this forum some years back when Matt was one of the major contributors and left because I didn't like the negativity. Much has remained the same if not gotten worse.

Jesper, thank you for trying to do something different and hope to see more articles from you.

Can anyone tell me how far off was I in my predictions here (post #2)? Thanks.
Couldn't see the game, just got the result.

As far as I can tell Chelsea played a three central defenders, two wing-backs, two central midfielders, two attacking central midfielders and a striker.
    Against that Spurs had:
-three central defenders to deal with the one striker.
    -two wing-backs against two wing-backs
-three central midfielders against four Chelsea midfielders -> outnumbered here
-two forwards against three central defenders -> outnumbered here

I didn't see the first half, from what I read and from the formations then it might be (can someone who saw tell?) that Chelsea dominated possession maybe as they outnumbered Spurs in two areas.
Second half looked scrappy to me. When Lamela came in then it looked like a 5-2-3 formation, possibly a 3-4-3. The possession stats evened out, maybe due to the change of player and formation.

Lampard might have won the tactical battle in the first half and won it one nil, second half was a draw.

Well hopefully that puts to bed the bk 3 argument. Clearly doesn't work and hasn't for us since we had walker n Rose firing and a fit dier in there too. We need a default formation, notable spine and results will come. Maybe stick with the inconsistent ndombele as he ain't getting better or fitter coming in and out of games.
I'd be going tanganga sanchez Toby Davies lo celso winks ndombele alli moura lamela for the next few games or so.

But it wasn’t a back 3? It was a back 5 with 4 in midfield? In effect it was a back 9 for the first half with no way out other than a huge punt.

A back 3 could work better if you have 5 in midfield and sit someone like Dier (he’s not ideal but the best for that role at the moment) in front as it would have then dropped under attack to a back 4 of Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier and Alderweireld.

You're free to post as ridiculous a post as you like , as you have proven.
No one is telling you what you can or can't though that's the point.
But the ultra positive types that crave mediocrity for some sort of perverse moral high ground don't seem to be able to do that.

Might this be the interesting part?
"Despite winning three of their last four in the league, Spurs' striker crisis leaves them vulnerable. Wolves' defence has been impenetrable recently anyway while up front the goals have been flowing again.

The day starts with Tottenham higher in the table but it might not end that way."

A 4-3-3 formation with Alli in the Firmino-role?

I think still 4-2-3-1 will be played. It is Bergwijn's turn to play #9. or false #9.

    Aurier-Toby-Sanchez-Tanganga
    Ndobele-Winks
    Lucas-Dele-Gedson
    Steven

No clue what you are talking about. It is a general comment based on your previous posts. Not current state of affairs. I am not the one deluded. You are the one deluded. Super negative about everything. Thinks that those who don't agree with you are ridiculous, if I remember correctly bed-wetters. What kind of moral high grounds do you stand on? Current state of affairs - happy? You got to be kidding me.

The season is a right off the only thing going in our favour is wolves played yesterday even then they had the comfort of resting a few.
If we get a result itl be another stink out masterclass performance can't wait......

    Record profits though again

Anyway I'll leave this forum and come back in a couple of years and see whether it's still the same. Cause not worth following if there's nothing constructive but just endless whining from major bloggers.

Enjoy holding up to your own high standards and continue to whine about Levy, ENIC, etc. That's all you can provide.

Strange line-up. Possibly another match with a back 5? Dier in the back 5? Or is it a back 4 with Tanganga or Davies vs Traore? If it is a 4-2-3-1 then the speedy wingers might be Bergwijn and Moura but who is the striker then?

Looks like we are winging it just, big 2nd half ahead will be a good result to keep hold of the 3 points

Moura is a goal-scorer who hasn't scored in a while, not sure if it is time to play someone else. Time for Lamela? Am undecided about Lloris, if he had played then he might have saved one or two of the goals but he has his weaknesses.

Formation looked like a 5-2-3 when defending and a 3-4-3 when attacking. At least it was exciting to watch.

I am sorry to have to say this but I wanted poch out and was pleased when Mourino came in but I am afraid that I didn’t listen to the people who said that his last two jobs proved that he was yesterday’s man.Now I’m convinced .Forget the fact that he has been unlucky with injuries to his strikers just look at the total lack of organisation especially in defence.I know that poch and levy have allowed our squad to become what it is but we still have better players
than the Burnley’s of this world but we are fast heading for our worst league finish for 20 years.A couple more defeats will see us out of the top half.Once again Moura is poor and still Parrot can’t get 5 minutes.Toby has been struggling but is still our best defender but is on the bench.A back four should be settled not changed every week. How sad that our only attacking threat is a fullback who can’t defend. On today’s performance Tanganga has a lot to learn but with no midfield cover it is hard for any back four.Winks captain for the day really..???
I am afraid that we have a lot more pain to come and don’t be surprised if Mourino is gone by the summer

The squad is appallingly put together , so many bang average players that don't Excell at anything.
Our 2 best players out long time and it just exposes how much they save the team time n time again.
Was pitiful in the end just like the last year n a half.

As I said start of season about our transfer buisness LoCelso was an Eriksen replacement, N'Dombele was a Dembele replacement and Sessegnon was a Rose replacement none of which have been an upgrade so really the only attempt at improving this team since the 17/18 season is Bergwijn & Gedson.
That's the ambition of this club and the reason we are so poor now.

Based on what I saw today then I'd say that Jimenez is now a more attractive buy than Kane, he scores about the same amount of goals, is less injury prone and is more of a team-player.
Wolves look very strong this year and unless their best players are bought then they look like a team who will be a strong competitor for top 4 for the next couple of seasons.
