Getting back to the basics of management how long has Pochettino continued with this completely inept funnel everything down the middle no width no pace football?
No matter what tinkering ineptitude he's been up to recently it's all delivered the same endless pass pass pass with absolutely no positive movement/positioning/vision.
You can't break through well drilled banks of 4 trying to thread the ball through the eye of a needle especially at walking pace that even a vets league side would feel is leggy.
Then there's the part of every game we've played now in near memory where at some point the little impetus we had suddenly just disappears and it all goes into its shell , dropping deeper and deeper , unable to string 3 passes together , all shape is lost , no one talking, all ball watching , inviting on pressure and making what can only be described as unprofessional mistakes.

At any level of football as a team you have to know what your good at and do it to the best of your ability , you also have to know your weaknesses and do your damned best to avoid or lessen them.
I see us doing neither for a long time, and the worst part is we seem to accentuate what we are poor at now.
Lloris is awful with his feet this is no secret our full back situation is bleak and our CM isn't the most technically blessed yet here we are game after game continually playing about in our own box, Toby & Jan maybe Winks the only players comfortable with ball at feet yet a stagnant team around them all with a suicidal touch/pass in them and we're doing this in our final 3rd for most of every match.
How on earth do they think they're gonna get wins playing like this????

Defensively we are a shambles , the full backs simply aren't good enough they lack pace , positional sense , passing/crossing/ decision making all sub standard with mistakes abundance in them.
Then the absolute circus that is Lloris who has to be the most unprofessional Goal Keeper in the league (how some think he's world class is just Laughable) he delivers more howlers than saves yet gets let off because of this , think about it he gets plaudits for making up for all his errors by doing what every keeper minus the gaffs do - It's delusional Only at Spurs Logic!

Then there's the attacking prowess of a doubled up on isolated Kane who has to come to the halfway line to find the ball. Son who looks to be the only player capable of running in the right direction at defenders and at pace (other than the lesser spotted Moura) but is often badly stranded or selfish.
The utter enigma that is Erik Lamela who plays whenever he's not injured no matter the fact his stats are appalling, his 5 poor touches when 1 poor touch would've been equally as ineffective, his blind alley running and fouling really is unmatched by any other 'attacking player' in world football.
The Hip Hop Star in his own head rude boy Alli who despite having showed promise now is just a dead weight of a player , seems to be fit enough for CL games and Internationals but not for bread and butter games where his ridiculous tricks n flicks may actually have some influence but he's too busy on the insta for doing his actual job , another player who thinks he's world class but is anything but.
CE the light weight dead ball specialist except for - Corners Free Kicks and Penalties who's best attribute has been his running stats, how could Madrid resist such a player in their ranks?

Most of the above preening self interested Stars in their own world who collectively have done feck all in genuine football terms that big clubs and players measure themselves against.

Which are I suppose just a product of their Manager/Head Coach... [insert latest its not my fault Victim title] who laps up the praise but deflects all failings elsewhere as and when it suits to protect the Brand. Arrogant/Ignorant/Stubborn/Moody looks like he rules with iron fist hence why his 'Captain' material is Hugo stuck in a trance Lloris.

Put all of this together , on top of stagnation , contract situations etc and we really are reaping what they as a collective have sewn.

The last 2 results have just been an insult to the fans , split as we are none of us deserve a side that has no interest in winning Titles/Trophies or at bare minimum trying for 90minutes.

You'll know my thoughts on Ming and ENIC , but the above issues other than contracts land solely with Pochettino , his squad management , game plans , tactics absolutely stink.
There's been no improvement whatsoever even the basics are now a shambles it can't be glossed over with songs about him being Magic.

Every other Premier League side at least have basic balance and game plans, we are the only side with such stray aimlessly negative ideas with the ball.
The only side with at least 4 starters including the keeper that can and will throw a game at any given time.
The only side that has 1 pacey player in it per game.
The only side that poses no attacking threat from free kicks and corners etc.

    It's beyond embarrassing.

    ENIC Out
    Levy Out
    Poch Out

And a good clear out starting with Lloris n Lamela followed by many other clowns holding down unchallenged 1st team spots.

I try to watch as much football as I can and all the teams in the top 7 have pace and all try to close down their opponents which we appear to be incapable of doing.I have criticised players for not performing at the top of their form but believe that the way pochetino has set the team up on a regular basis over the last 6 months has a lot to do with it.I admit to being a great Ali fan when we first bought him but he then played up with Kane and scored important goals but for some reason pochetino tried to play him in midfield which is not his position. This along with the injuries have completely destroyed his confidence although his attitude does not help. The media tell us that pochetino strength is bringing on young players I am still looking for them .The only youngster to progress is Winks .Have a look at Chelsea to see real progress with young players. We actually buy one from Leeds and loan him back in stead of coaching him in the Tottenham way.I heard great things about young Edwards but we sell him why???Can any one tell me who coaches our under 19s because I have watched them in Europe and only parrot taranga and skipp have looked like they could progress.there is a young Pochetino in the squad??

I think we are paying the price of not signing a single player and freshening up the squad last season.
The manager got us to the CL few sessions in a raw. He was crying for help from Levy. Got nothing.

Also I heard a rumour about the unprofessional behaviour of one of players toward another and bust up in dressing room. Since then half the players not taking to each other.Pochettino unable to resolve the situation

Sorry feri. if the rumour is true and I doubt it a good manager would have sorted it can you imagine Alec Ferguson letting that fester . The culprit if there is one would never play for United again and if true shows how weak pochetino really is

Why does everyone keep going on about Fergie etc giving the players a kick up the arse blah blah times have changed gone are the days when you can bollock players they are treated like princess if they get the hump they don't play and still draw their wages however that doesn't mean a good man manager can get players to play well if the players buy into it for few seasons the squad were 100 % into the plan hopefully Poch will turn it round because can't see anyone else coming in who will do it on the limited budget they will get

Couldn't agree more with you. Thought I was the only one who felt this way! Spurs have been on the slide for a long time now and flukish performances like making the Champions League final have served to mask this.
Thanks immensely for posting such a succinct and incisive story.
In 50 years of supporting Spurs I've never seen them play with less passion, pride, skill or endeavour.
Time for us as supporters to act before it's too late.

MP has done a fair job over 5 seasons, however, it was obvious after the Cl final that he has taken spurs as far as he can. Mp's squad management , game plans , tactics have not evolved since 2016/17 and at present spurs look like an un-coached team without any game plan, other than to press hard and hope it works out. Mp's decision to play uncommitted players ahead of committed ones makes me vex Ce and toby have been getting in ahead of moura and sanchez why? spurs are still getting beat so why not let the players who want to play for spurs get the game time?
It's the right time for MP to go, however, i don't see MP resigning and losing 30m and levy won't want to pay 30m to get rid of mp. So spurs are stuck with MP for the time being.

No I meant princesses lol I have no idea if Poch can turn it around my point is that any manager worth his salt would wanna work with Levy so that leaves us with the option of past failures bringing in Hughes/Big Sam or another no mark I hope I'm wrong however imo the club will continue to be run on a championship budget and there is the crux of the problem

I think that SAF and Wenger's longevity was the exception that proved the rule of managers having a sell-by date, not only with the European super-managers of the past few years, who rarely stay anywhere more than three or four seasons, but even with Spurs in the apparently golden period from the late 1950s to the mid-80s.
Bill Nicholson was appointed in October 1958, well before he hit the age of 40, and in a few months had moulded a team which should have won the league in 1960, did the Double in '61, should have done another Double in '62, and won the ECWC in '63, followed by ONE FA Cup in the next eight years. Yes, we picked up three lesser trophies in the early '70s, but we only mounted one serious title attempt in Nick's last eleven seasons in charge, and had well and truly been established as a cup team instead of the Division One heavyweights we'd been for most of the '50s and early '60s. By the time he left in 1974, the club was in a bad way, and it's a shame that the glories of the early '60s had been almost forgotten in the humiliation of the UEFA Cup defeat to Feyenoord.
If Bill Nick started like a hare, Keith Burkinshaw was very much a tortoise, kicking-off with our first relegation since the 1930s, and proceeding via the flukiest promotion possible (and Brighton fans might use a stronger word than 'fluky'), our biggest-ever league defeat, 7-0 at Liverpool, to finally regaining our claim to be the Cup Kings with the two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup in the early '80s. From the perspective of today, those seem like great days, but there was quite a widespread feeling at the time that Spurs were not punching their weight, that a team containing Hoddle and Ardiles, Roberts, Perryman et al, should have done better - if Forest could win the league in 1978, and Villa match them in 1981, why were Spurs perpetually a 'cup team'? Burkinshaw's first three seasons were very much a learning process, and I'd say that he had two seasons when things clicked, and was already on a clear downward path when he was dispensed-with in 1984
Looking forward from 1984 to a haul of one FA Cup and two League Cups in the next 35 years, I suppose we should have been more grateful for such success as we had, but it's been nothing but false dawns, with Pochettino's 'project' being the biggest of the lot. He's clearly lost the players, as well as his own enthusiasm, and the end is inevitable, however long it might be in coming.

Why would a man who is financially careful to the extent of being Scrooge when it comes to buying players make the mistake of giving a contract to a manager with no out clause. Surely in this day and age you should give contracts on yearly basis and if the manager does not want it then tough.I know giving poch 5 years means he can’t just leave without another club paying compensation but surely that is better having someone who doesn’t want to be at your club in charge of the players. If this had been the case I believe united would have relieved us of the problem by now as they have a tactically inept man in charge as well

Fergie came to Utd a winner , he had a difficult start but once he'd put the pieces in place his serial cup & title winning spoke for itself.
Wenger came to Arsenal a winner , an unknown quantity but a winner none the less he very quickly won the double then like Fergie was a serial cup & title winner only the stadium hindering his record, even then got back to winning cups B4 he left.

Pochettino came to us with having made Southampton a decent mid table side (that koeman took over and bettered) and Didn't he get a draw with Barca once ......

    Winning buys you time period.

Pochettino started well but hasn't won anything and looks further away now than when he took the reigns almost 6 years ago.

He's not fit to be mentioned in the same category not even potentially, his attitude towards trophies is appalling and so is his record go figure.

The worst possible thing to happen would be nothing, as in Poch not being removed because DL doesn't want to pay £30m+ to remove him. I like him, but it's beyond fixing as it is.

Since January we have lost 19 times ffs in all competitions which is the worst of ANY & ALL PL teams. Liverpool and City lost just 4 times, 4! We lost 13 Pl games last season.

We lost 3-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion ffs, can you believe that, can you believe how bad we were, to a man. Next game he's going to change it all again. I'm a lifer, but I'm getting wearied by it. We've played dross at The Lane, Palace apart (and I missed that one..lol).

Time to move on DL, time to sort it. Dare I say he's waiting for Ole to get the chop, to save paying the cash to Poch....and staff.....mmmm!!

Just a bit of caution .If the press are to be believed Southgate was one of the favourites if Pochetino gets sacked.I have just watched England and they looked even more clueless than Tottenham at the moment. Our two members were as bad as they have been recently Kane apart from the penalty was non existent as he has been for most of the season and Rose is no where near international standard .How could a manager with any nous think vKeane is an international centre half and Trippier is better than than the Liverpool youngster.I know this is a spurs website but beware what you wish for.

If Southgate really is in the frame for the Spurs job, it just confirms how utterly clueless our famously astute CEO really is. He's appointed nine managers to date, and the only three who've not been total failures have been accidents, Jol stepping-up only when Santini decided that unemployment was preferable to working for Levy, Redknapp being recruited when Ramos was making relegation a serious prospect, and Pochettino being a relatively cheap replacement for Sherwood - why not give him a try? Nothing much to lose!
Southgate is a proven failure in club management, and his England team has been horrible to watch, even the supposedly successful 2018 World Cup campaign in fact consisting of a string of unconvincing performances against minnows, ending in failure against Croatia, and Kane's Golden Boot being frankly embarrassing, given that it was based on penalties, some extremely questionable. None of that means that we should stick with Pochettino though, just not bring in a nice but ineffectual nobody like Southgate.

Can you imagine what Southgate would bring, slow sideways passing, no width, no pace.....perhaps Poch and Southey went to the same coaching school.....!!
