Strange...I think a lot of the comments were related to the fact that in the last 2 x league games we have been more assertive in terms of applying pressure from the front. Bale mentioned it in his interview by saying that he was happy with the performance and more goals can be scored when you play higher up the pitch.

If anything at all has changed in the last couple of games, the player attitudes and work rate seems to have improved/been lifted which means that there are some positives to be taken out of a pretty poor run towards the end of this season.

Let’s hope we win our remaining games then start again in the summer with a new coach and a few new players to drive an improvement for next season because we have a decent run in compared to others and with a bit of positivity in the playing squad, we might just make the top 4

It's laughable to think the players take absolutely no responsibility for what happens on the pitch.
A football match can be played without a manager but a it can't be played without players.

If the manager has no influence... which is obviously not true... then why pay him 15 million a season?

He picked the team (poorly)... he set the tactics (timidly)... he managed the squad (boorishly)

Nice to see Mourino once again does the opposite to what he says .He signed for tvduties then signs on for Roma manager.Italian football will be more suited to his defensive Tacticsa.Watch this space.Maybe he will come for his favourite players and help us get rid of Dier and Sissoko

 

Might aswell just let the 2 managers have it out then instead of the players if the players have no responsibility whatsoever.

It's amazing why the top clubs even bother spending millions on players when all u need is a coach.....

 

We need to look at both sides of the coin. Players and managers collectively share responsibility for results but the buck always stops at managers.

A manager can bring the best or worst out of his players. In JM's later reign, it's the latter. If players are around managers who think well of them, they will want to play for him and give their best. If players are around managers who think they are ****, what will they give.

I remember this quote "I am not what I think I am. I am not what you think I am. I am what I think you think I am". While we can argue that players should be professional and perform regardless of circumstances, human beings are social creatures and don't exist in a vacuum. Buying expensive players and paying them handsomely alone unfortunately don't always secure performance.

Tactics and man-management are very important. It's not just putting 11 players out on the field and expect them to win a match.

Ruben Dias & Joe Rodon are the same age.

1 is putting in motm performances in the CL, about to win the League and has a LG cup medal.
The other will be called potential until he's 28.

And we have to pretend that it was a smart buy.

I really can’t understand why Felon gives so much stick to Rodon. He cost a sixth of the cost of Dias. I think he has a lot going for him but for some reason the idiot Dier somehow keeps getting picked in front of him.I see Dier has been going off in the press about unfair criticism this week who is he trying to convince Mason or Southgate.Buy a top centre half and let him bring on Rodon like Dias has for Stones

It's not Rodon I'm giving stick too it's the club and how it operates.
Mourinho wanted Dias he was ready to come to us they share the same agent but instead Levy got Rodon instead and we all have to play the he's got potential game while the other has gone straight into the back line and is quite clearly a top top CB.
In the meantime we sent Jan over there to replace him and acquired a championship defender and wonder why we are where we are.

 

Better not go down that route, doing so might make you come across as the Mourinho-haters and they do not come across well - to me the haters seem both sad and pathetic. I've read that some Mournho-haters have already joined Roma-forums and that level of hate does not seem healthy.

Most managers at clubs like PSG end up getting fired, either due to players complaining or due to failing to meet the objective of CL. Clubs do tend to back players over managers nowadays and that might indicate what clubs see as more important for success - players are seen as more important than the manager. I'd agree with that, squad-quality is about 85-95% of the position in the league with the rest being luck/chance and the manager.
For those reasons then I believe that Pochettino is likely to one day get fired from PSG but who cares?
