There will be a completely new forward line at White Hart Lane next season if reports are to be believed, with Mauricio Pochettino interested in allowing both Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor to leave.

The Daily Mirror report the Argentine will give the green light for the experienced forwards to exit Spurs and use the funds to make a move for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the Belgian forward recently and it seems he is going to be the man to spearhead the new era at the Lane.

Experienced duo to fund move for Belgian

However, he is likely to cost a large chunk of cash and therefore it is imperative that Adebayor and Soldado are sold.

Mirror insist that Pochettino has informed our Togo striker already that he is not part of his plans, something our previous manager did last season too.

And with Soldado also favouring a move back to Spain, Pochettino would be willing to allow the Spaniard a return to his native country.

French outfit Monaco are among the teams interested in taking Adebayor away from the club, while various Spanish sides have been linked with Soldado.

    Is it the right decision?

Is Pochettino correct to try and make money on our two main forwards from last season? Especially considering the factors surrounding both.

Adebayor ended the campaign impressively and scored 14 times despite only coming in from the dark midway through the season.

And although Soldado disappointed, many are in the belief that the 29-year-old could be better next season after adjusting to life in the Premier League.

The argument for Pochettino selling the pair is that Lukaku is a devastating, talented forward who could quite easily become one of the best in the world should he fulfil his potential.

    Lukaku’s potential…

In his two previous loan spells with Premier League clubs West Brom Albion and Everton, Lukaku has enjoyed great success and improved his goalscoring record on both occasions.

A move to White Hart Lane, alongside various fellow Belgian internationals, could be perfect for the young Chelsea ace and he could flourish under Pochettino.

Is selling Adebayor and Soldado to fund a move for Lukaku the right move?

Yes, 100%,yes. This would be a great move because it would allow Poch to build a team that is, from day one, his. Lukaku is special. Plain and simple. Were Robbie or Ave younger, who knows, but all things equal, this is wonderful.

Shouldve blatantantly signed him last summer instead of soldadwarf. Lukaku even when hes not scoring terrorises defences with pace and power and his presence gives a focal point for the tdam to play through or to. Id like us to get Bony aswell, sell soldadud lazy slow and weak, sell Adebyore only plays when he wants dissapears the rest of the time and costs a fortune in wages!
    Sign Lukaku up pronto!!!!!

If we landed lukaku which I very much doubt then with poch favouring a lone forward it would be inevitable for the pair to leave due to thier age and wages meaning its not feasible from the players and clubs point of view to be sat on a bench decreasing in value. Added to that they are not able to play any other position we would need a young back up striker to come in and make an impact off the bench and we could develop (Ings and or Rodriguez) and a proven forward who can also play wide (Remy)
