Forgetting the Final is essential - a Spursy result, a Spursy way to lose, and two goals conceded that define the word 'Spursy'. And yet it wasn't a Spursy performance in any way, shape or form.

This was very pleasing to see against Chelsea but we must see it again if we are to overcome a strong Swansea side who have already defeated Arsenal at home this season.

At this point in our season, with us out of the running for every major trophy, we need to end the season on a high, or our final position will not represent the success that I believe this season has been.

Get the loss out of our system - and fast

Victory over Swansea would help the squad get over the agonizing defeat to Mourinho, but it won't be easy. Bafetimbi Gomis - who Lloris should know well from his time at Lyon - could cause our defence some problems, while the issue of Wilfried Bony is not one we have to contend against because of his January move.

However there are still threats from ex-Spur Gylfi Sigurdsson, who has scored some screamers this year, as well as the midfielder Jonjo Shelvey who again has the power to hit the ball from range. Garry Monk's side have formed a solid outfit this year but hopefully this is a challenge our players will relish.

    Who to pick?

“We’re all okay, no problems, now we need to take the decision for the starting 11 and the squad,” said Mauricio after training on Tuesday.

Personally I would rest Eriksen or Kane. Again, the final appears to have taken its toll and they look to have nearly run out of steam.

I would expect to see Soldado feature at some point, and actually believe if he does the simple things right he could get us a goal.

Dembele should also feature, probably starting, who will give us physical prowess in the attacking midfield role.

The back four could stay the same, as Fazio is too slow to cope with Gomis's movement, while one if not both of Mason or Bentaleb will be tasked with closing down Swansea's midfield - a job they are more than capable of doing.

No repeats of the away game

We won in Wales last time out with an Eriksen goal late in the game giving us another 2-1 win. We couldn't cope with Bony's ability, and he scored their goal.

This time out, I expect us to attack with purpose and hopefully get an early goal and dominate the game from there afterwards. A big performance and win is required but if the players play to potential, it could be a very entertaining game to watch.

    Predicted starting XI

Lloris, Rose, Dier, Vertonghen, Walker, Mason, Bentaleb, Chadli, Dembele, Lamela, Soldado

4th or nothing now, very doubtful we'll make CL so please dear God let us not qualify for the No-Hoper League the most boring and detrimental competition in world football especially when we never take it seriously!
Season is basically over and we need to put a number of our surplus in the window, think Poch should start experimenting some different formations rest of this campaign to build our ability to adapt if needs be, use the remaining games for this so weve more options going forward to switch it up.

Cant see us getting anywhere near 4th spot, but its a nice dream. Maybe the season is over in many ways, but we stick with Poch and support him as he instills his philosophy into the squad. We will push to get as high up in the table as we can because the financial rewards of the EPL increase as you go up the table! We get more money out of the kitty finishing 5th rather than 6th. Nevertheless every game now offers an oppurtunity for our young team to grow and express itself, every game is a final in our glorious premier league. Swans up next! I dont live too far from Swansea these days so i dont want to lose to the 'jacks ' ! Coys.

Poch has had to rotate his squad quite a lot this season especially of late and rightly or wrongly it hasn't quite worked out!! Now tho with only one aim the time for such drastic rotation is gone. I believe top four is do-able with soton and utd faltering of late the last two spots are between ourselves pool and the goons. We have played pretty much all the top sides home and away I think we could do it if the best 11 is picked...

Great point big fran, we can put our all into every league game now, without distractions. No cups no europe just the epl. Liverpool showed last year what a good team could do solely in the premier without playing in other competitions. Lets pick ourselves up and fight to the end! Coys.

I just hope Kyle Walker is fit as his presence in the team, with Yedlin still not ready to play, is essential to Pochettino's tactics.

Chiriches, although a very good CB, has NEVER been a RB, and much like Dier before him is struggling to do himself justice in the role.

Playing for one or two games there is one thing, but anymore than that and your asking for trouble.

If Kyle was to be rested, I would love to see Yedlin make his debut. Tough call as one of Swansea's strengths is in the quality of their wide- players, but Deandre doesn't strike me as the kind of kid to be overrawed and as long as his preparation has been right, which it will be, I don't see a problem.

It COULD actually be VERY clever management by Poch if he did start the young American. After all, what better way to give the Spurs faithful a lift after Sundays disappointment than by giving an exciting young player his debut?

Taking into consideration not only the physical, but the mental fatigue that would of been accrued in recent weeks, I would freshen things up going into this fixture.

Bentelab although excellent against Chelsea would best rested. As would Christian Eriksen.

Unlike the West Ham, when Dembele was given the role of the teams 'Brain', I would allow Mousa this time around to share that job with Nacer Chadli.

Providing we have the pace and attacking prowess of a Walker/ Yedlin at RB, I would also be inclined to give Rose a well-earned breather and play Ben Davies against his former club.

    My team:

    Lloris

    Walker/Yedlin Dier Vertonghen Davies

    Stambouli Mason

    Townsend Dembele Chadli

    Kane

I feel six wins maybe 7 could quite likely get us top four. The team has a core spine of players now of lloris walker JV Died(who has the makings of a top centre half) rose bentaleb eriksen and of course Kane. What we need is two or three more to step up to that level of being in the default 11 so to speak and we will get more consistent. I've said that from day one. I think dembele and Townsend have that capability but the other berths may need by signings or bringing in Pritchard McAvoy etc.

Dream on Fran 6 wins would leave us with 62 points 7 wins with 65 not enough especially when were already giving away a points advantage to all our main competitors for the spots.
Scum are about to crash out of the CL and always sweep all aside in the run in, Liverpool have no other distractions and are just starting to find form, Utd are on the slip and player for player were no better than Southampton who also sit above us.
Mathematically not impossible but realistically we should use this run in to experiment and get surplus players in the shop window.
We do not need another energy zapping No-hoper League campaign next season that has way more negatives than positives especially when never taken seriously.
CL/top 4 is too much for us this season, unless for once we have the gods shining down on us, not in my lifetime thus far!

I see ppl wanting Eriksen and Bentaleb to rest. Personally I would prefer that both play 45 minutes. They could play 45 and be ready for the QPR game I think - both are young lads.

Time to give JV a rest so that he can dream about that expected offer from BARnsley.
Fazio must be better than he has shown so far and I am really impressed with Dier at CB having thought he was unimpressive at RB. The two have not really been tried together as CBs and maybe this will be our pairing for next season.
2 wins this week and third place is not so far away, a defeat tonight and we are in a battle with Stoke, Spammers and our opponents tonight.
