Well overall that was good bad and ugly.

We started off very predictably , predictable line up , at snails pace , lots of 12s with Lloris calling Liverpool on and trying to overplay in totally none threatening areas then gift away a goal.
A laboured 1st half then played out.

We came out 2nd half and began to get our act together finally, once again dominating possession, but not carving many clear opportunities out, if only points were given out for halfway line domination.

So we huff and puff and huff and puff some more, Poch rolls the dice and brings on the attacking talents of Lamela Llorente and replaces Dembele with Wanyama, up steps Victor with an absolute thunderbolt of a goal (thank god as we weren't looking likely to actually make a goal with our predictable play from the off) .

So at 1-1 everyone's thinking that's it but then a break of luck (dubious offside, little contact) and Kane's over for a Pen.
Up he steps and it reminded me of Rocky 4 when Drago gets cut and Rockys corner man screams 'see hes a Man hes not a machine' yes Harry Kane can fluff in front of goal, so we go from almost taking the 3 points at the death to thinking we've lost 2 points.

It had to be over now surely but no Salah (the exact type of player we need- hopefully Moura will give us this) weaves his way through our defence and dinks it over Lloris, and now everyone's thinking they've knicked it.

So with all hope gone and the clock ticking down a last ditch ball into the box and the Cart horse gets a flick on and Lamela the great Argentinian dope does what he does best and uncoordinatedly gets in the way of van dykes leg. Boom its another Pen.

Literally last kick of the game Harry steps up to rescue the draw.
    And seals his 100th goal!

Now drama aside this is exactly why we don't and wont win things because our statistical dominance translates to too much faffing about in safe areas busily doing nothing, 37% Liverpool had and in the end WE were lucky to rescue the point.

Having had a look at the remaining fixtures I worry about us finishing top 4 now I really do.

How did you see almost winning to almost losing and then desperately getting a draw?

We pulverised them bin dipping c***s in the second half, the first goal (A gifted mistake) did them a favour & made them look better in the first half than they actually are (Salah aside).

In the second half we were absolutely f***ing amazing & well deserved all 3 points no debate.

Ok its just a draw but the manner in which we took their joy away at the death makes this one of the best memories of the season for me.

Bear in mind if Kane scores his first pen we win the game easily. As its stands its 6-3 on aggregate over the two games & Liverpool are a long way off being as good as Spurs. They just run around a lot & get in your face in the first half & hope that's enough to win the game pfft.

    Up the Spurs!!!!

Pool can't play 90 min, like Felon82 said. We should have won it. Kane just blew it. Draw is a fair result, but Spurs were close to surprise. Oh, well.

We started out very nervously, as usual away from home against a top side, and were soon playing catch-up. Dier was making mistakes again in a big game and Sanchez joined him in crime - fortunately the rest of the defence decided not to join in. Trippier had an excellent game.
The second half was brutally one-sided but playing against a parked bus it was not easy to get too many clear chances.
I wasn't overly impressed when Wanyama replaced Dembele and when he shot from outside the area I was fearing for the corner flag. I stand corrected!
Full credit to the referee team - to make two decisions against the home side in a hostile atmosphere was brave - they seem to be vindicated by the neutral press this morning although they will be tainted for a while for having made the decisions.
Disappointed with one point but glad we didn't concede defeat at 2-1 down.

Klopp going bonkers about a soft penalty, Savage saying it's cheating. I HATE it, but it's been going on for years and we've been victims more than once as well as getting the decision. AND those doing the crying haven't uttered sh*t when they benefitted from it. Liverpool looked like winning at 90+1, they didn't win, so then it has got to be someone elses' fault. We'll have similar calls against us at some point, so will everyone else. It's called Modern Football and it's not the game I grew up playing and watching, it hasn't been for a long time. Deal with it. T'ain't right, but deal with it.

I'm not sure my heart rate has returned to normal yet, after 94 frantic minutes.

Dier was shite first half, Sanchez overawed by playing in front of the Kop and wft was Lloris doing with his distribution. Against Manure he didn't sod about, then he reverts back and we're instantly under pressure. The Gooners will exploit that, for sure.

First half was poor and painful, second was tense and painful in equal doses. In truth in the past we would have bottled it. Last year they stuffed us, this year if it wasn't for H's slip and Dier, we would be third. As ever fine margins.

Dembele was strong again, Verts and Trippier also, but up front we weren't threatening enough. I thought the ref and linesman did well. Lovren did go for it and got a touch, but because he's shite he made a hash of it and the Lamela incident would have been foul anywhere else on the pitch, so pen was right. Pity H's first effort was schoolboy bad, but he's forgiven for that after scoring the second.....and the other 99!!

Watched the Gooners rip apart a dire Everton side......mmmm!! Another mega match at Wembley, the home of football, on Saturday. Bring it on.

I think the more pressing issue is for us that despite having the majority of the play it took 2 dubious penalties for us to rescue a point.

It is true Felon...H hasn't been firing on all cyclinders - he's saving that for the Gooners!!

I've got very mixed feelings about yesterday's game - listening to the totally biased Liverpool fan Alan Green's commentary on Radio 5 Live, I thought his generally negative comments on Spurs' performance were just a result of his unashamed prejudice, but the MOTD highlights caused me almost as much concern as that other famous 2-2, when some fans were delighted that we kicked Chelsea off the park, while others (including me) were appalled that we had chosen to be the bad guys in a way that would have disgusted Bill Nick.
Against Liverpool it seemed that we'd decided to join the Tom Daley Appreciation Society, with 'contact' turning into theatrical penalty area collapses for both Kane and Lamela in a way which eventually won us a deserved point, but left a sour taste in my mouth.
As for Alli, he's on the way to becoming another Diouf, Ballotelli or Adebayor, and while he might be happy to be booed like some pantomime villain, it'll cost the club if legitimate penalties are denied, or yellow cards picked-up for petulance (or worse), and Pochettino has got to replace the pat on the head with the boot up the bum if he is not to become just another wasted talent, of whom we've had far too many to bother listing.

The Goons may be a stiffer proposition with Aubameyang, but he's only one man in a basically not-great-side. Yes they stuffed Everton, but it seems everyone is doing that.Go at them, stuff them. COYS

As was mentioned earlier and i noted yesterday , the 1-2 playing with Lloris along our goal/touch line was just inviting liverpool to close us down at times and force mistakes. This will be exploited by lescum given half a chance.

  14. I}m sorry, but how any 'football fan' can make a conclusion of the game based on radio coverage or MOTD highlights is beyond me.

listening to a lot of LEVELHEADED Lpool fans after the game many said Spurs deserved more and best team to come to Anfield this season. Obvs three points would've been better but I don't think we were as bad (defending aside) as some on here suggest

You may not be able to sum up 90 minutes from MOTD or 5Live radio, but you sure as hell can see a dodgy penalty call or primary school defending. A legitimate comment is not restricted to BT or SKY users only.

I see you've ventured into the hornet's nest of 'Dear Mr Levy' again - you're either very brave or a total masochist, because unquestioning faith in ENIC, Levy and Pochettino is mandatory on that site, and dissent is not tolerated. Good luck if you persist in trying to instil some honesty and objectivity into the true believers' rose-tinted world, because you'll need it!

Changing the subject for a minute.....how good was that Chelski defeat last night. Watford were really up for it and the Scum look totally lost, Conte included. Reckon he might be gone and very soon, otherwise their top 4 might be in doubt.....keep him on Roman...
