I don’t know whether you’re feeling like me this morning. I awoke from a heavy sleep, shattered after the events of yesterday. It wasn’t a hangover. I wish it was. It was a hangover of sorts however, one that you get from an adrenalin fuelled day that ends with a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Chelski Rent Boys.

I thought we played well, at 2-2 I thought we’d go on to win it. I’d felt good before the game, I did even when we went behind twice, but in the end we came up short. Three set pieces and a once in a lifetime strike……FFS.

I’d felt going into the game that we needed some luck along the way and no early bookings or early goals. Well I didn’t get what I wished for, did I.

Yet we responded well each time and to lose to the Scum was just harsh in the extreme, to say the very least.

I was going to try to put together some player ratings, but in truth I just don’t feel up to it, so here is my shortened version.

Players who played well – Dembele, Kane, Eriksen
Players who played OK – Trippier, Toby, Verts, Dier, Alli
Players who didn’t play OK – Lloris, Son, Wanyama

Son looked isolated for me, with little help close to hand, Hugo should have done better with the free kick for me and made a better attempt at the Hazard goal. I thought Victor look short of match sharpness, which I guess he was.

The bottom line is that playing well overall, winning many of the stats, counts for sweet FA, when you lose to three set pieces and a once in a lifetime strike. That Wembley is becoming a graveyard for us is an observation that worries me a little, but I do believe in the team and I think they believe in themselves. That will certainly help as they look to shrug off yet another “home” defeat when they take on Palace and the Gooners.

We live in hope. After all we are Yiddos.

    COYS and RIP Ugo

Trying to be uncharacteristically positive, I remember how gutted we all were after losing to Portsmouth in the 2010 semi, but then 'Arry's team went on a run that included wins over Chelsea and Arsenal, and into the CL for the first time. That's the positivity over - Pochettino showed how much he still has to learn yesterday (and he's not THAT young; Bill Nick had done the Double and won the Cup-Winners Cup while younger than Pochettino is now), while the look on the players' faces at the final whistle reminded me of Bale's when we were pipped for fourth in 2013 - they want success NOW, not in five years time, and we're not going to keep the likes of Ali or Eriksen (who don't 'love' Spurs - why should they, when they could be doubling their money and winning things elsewhere?) by being the eternal bridesmaids. As for next season and beyond - well, heaven help us if we don't overcome the Wembley hoodoo sooner rather than later.

    Bemused by Poch's selection.

Also for all the plaudits for our style and domination of teams we are not incisive enough.

Yes, we got two great goals but just look at all the set pieces that went astray. Eriksen is acclaimed for his superb passing but how many times does he not get enough lift on his corners or free kicks? Added to that, at least two of the corners were taken short and we ended up passing the ball back to Loris! When is this going to be addressed?

Our 11 best are as good as Chelsea's but unfortunately not the next well 6 or 7.

Confused . Played well but lost due to a manager changing a winning system . Victor is not fully fit . Son is in great form going forward but is no LWB . Ben has been a good deputy . Why did MP do it as for the first time we conceded goals ???

Unbelievable that to shoehorn Wanyama Dier and Son into the starting 11 that MP jettisoned Ben Davies and played Son so out of position that it was embarrassing. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The best defensive stats in the premiership undone. The game lost as Humpty Dumpty Spurs could not be put back together again. Momentous mistake by out Manager

Woke up this morning really bummed out but on a whole I have mixed emotions... disappointment at the team selection and sloppy goals we conceded, pride at the performance, specially in the second half, annoyance at a massive opportunity missed but hope for the future and the direction going.

I cringed when i saw Son at LWB. Crazy to try something like that in a FA cup semi final against a team like Chelsea. If that was ever mulled over as an option why didn't Poch test it against Bournemouth or Watford? Anyway the gamble didn't pay off and that put us on the back foot.

The second half performance up until the 3rd goal was amazing and we looked like the only winner but you can't leave Hazard on the edge of the box with that much space and we were punished for it. At that point our race was run and the fourth goal only served the purpose of rubbing salt in the wounds and creating a score line that doesn't reflect the game.

At the start of the season if someone had offered me 2nd in the league and a FA Cup semi final I'd have grabbed their hand off. We have to look at how far we've come, what we have to look forward to with the new stadium and the bright future ahead of us.

    Im deflated.

Not because the team played badly. But that we've been given a reality check. A few things didn't go our way. Certainly there were a few Chelsea yellow cards for repeated fouls that didn't materialise and the ball just didn't drop for us sometimes. Poch made a mistake in playing Son at wingback - but at least it was one made with the right intentions. The fact that the MotM was Luiz tells you all need to know about the game - we were the better footballing team. We just weren't clinical enough. Which leads into the fact that whilst we have been brilliant this year, our squad really does lack the depth to take us onto the next level. Hazard vs. GNK is really not even a comparison. We had £48m worth of two unused subs!

I also don't think this will affect the run in. We didn't play badly - in fact I think that's the best the team have played at Wembley. So I'm still hopeful that we'll finish strongly.

With a couple of good additions in the summer - a good rest for the squad, and a flying start to next season, I think we'll be even better next season. COYS!

Poch to blame and should take all of it

Stupid decisions by Poch cost us this game no doubt about it
    And he hasnt taken responsibility

Son out of position, and he corrects that mistake by putting Trippier out of position...inexplicable

    Not Sons fault.

Lloris is a bit of a bottler too...not his best game.

I still think we will win the league this year (hope), betting markets have us a 15% chance.

Just goes to show that Mr Levy needs to invest We need to keep the super players but we need some additional experience in all areas it wont come cheap. Was a Bloody good game of Football and the score was not a true reflection. Son was wrong to go for the tackle but TV clearly showed Moses jumped over son with no contact and then fell over. I suppose that's football but not gamesmanship. We just made mistakes some weekends you get away with them others you get punished. Now for the League

Once again we had our eye on the next game instead of winning the one in front of us. Son at wingback ? Come on...not only a crazy decision but it negated one of our recent major threats who has been scoring for fun. Lesson one...don't concede early to this lot...and what did we do ?

Very short memories, this time last week Poch and the team were the form team, and now Poch make's one error and doom and gloom,we lost because Chelski had 150 Million sitting on the bench we had nothing, some of the goals were out standing some we could have done better but in the end we were beat so time to move on,the big test is Wednesday prove to the doubter's we can bounce back, remember we are one of the few teams to have beaten Chelski and we will do so again,so instead of all this negative talk stay true and get behind the team for Wednesday..COYS.

I do think if an offer came in that was silly money for Hugo we may accept it . He has been excellent for us in past seasons but not been at his high standard for me this season . There are some very good keepers out there and if someone offered mega bucks for Hugo I could see Levy being tempted to sell .

    Surprisingly upbeat.
Felt kinda muted on Friday due to Ugo's sad passing. Couldn't quite shake that on Saturday but did my best to get myself up for the game. So, on the face of it a hugely disappointing loss should intensify that.

Let's not pretend - the ref was dreadful, Moses dived, all of Kante, Alonso (particularly) and Side Show Bob should have had multiple yellow cards before any of them was. Poch did make a mistake with Son - but Danny will be back soon and Davies recovered (we hope). And for all the much heralded Chelsea changes, they didn't play anyone so drastically out of position/normal role. And even in that Poch is learning. We were the better team and had moments to go ahead, losing, eventually, to a killer wonder goal that no-one could expect and no-one could have done anything about. Even the ball was against us when it refused to roll over the line from Kane's free-kick to set up a grand stand finish.

The margins were fine. It is gone. So are we the cobwebs. And that is how I am hoping the players are, too. Too many pundits are chewing on the too easy narrative that this was Spurs 'bottling it' and too many opposition fans, out in force gleefully, wummingly declaring that to be the case. But it isn't. That would be if we now collapse and finish below the Goons. That would be when we drew with West Brom and the Chavs and then collapsed. But I don't think that is what will happen. I hope it will galvanise everyone at the club. Chelsea were celebrating like winning a cup semi has handed them the double - because it was against us! They celebrated like beating Stoke had handed them the league - and then promptly lost to Palace. I'm hoping they do the same on Tuesday. I'm dreaming, and I admit that is exactly what it is, that they falter and we take advantage. I'm dreaming that we end the season as Premier league champions - much to the consternation of all the journos and oppos fans who are gloating and revelling in our latest misfortune. And, just for good measure, I am hoping that Citeh win today and absolutely stuff the Chavs in the final - whom then finish the season with nothing and we can laugh at them.

But most of all, what the gloaters have missed is that the 'bottling' doesn't come from being a bit unfortunate and/or a bit hard done by in a one off game of football - no matter how important. No, it comes from the reaction to that misfortune and/or unfairness. And I believe this is a better team, a stronger team. I am hoping we keep the pressure on the Chavs and even if they don't stumble and we can't win the title, I am hoping we finish the season strongly and comfortably consolidate second place. That would be bucking the trend and not 'bottling it'. And I believe we can and will do that. And in the bigger picture I believe this is the most important thing for the progress of this team. So, yeah, feeling remarkably upbeat.

We went into the game like a well oiled machine the form team. There were numerous mistakes. Son the obvious one playing our in form player at left wing bk. Changing our system to match Chelsea's when they were more worried of us. Putting dier bk to centre half when he was playing so well in midfield. Why was all this done??? To justify getting wanyama back into the side. Now, I'm a big fan of Victor he's probably my player of the season but there was no need to change a winning side so drastically to accommodate one player especially one that isn't a match winner!
I'm in no doubt that poch will have gone home kicking himself and the decisions he made that will no doubt leave us trophy less come may.. Hopefully he learns from it!!

    Ah, don`t you just love the modern fickle football fan!.....totally unrealistic expectations, violently lurching from one extreme to the other;

Last week, we were the best thing since sliced bread, on a record winning run, best young squad and best manager in the Premiership. 90 minutes of football later and we`re not quite good enough, lacking in sqaud depth, need to spend heavily in the summer...and some even suggesting we sell our great goalkeeper and captain.

The truth of course is somewhere in the middle of those 2 opinions. We never were the "best" (how could we be, we haven`t won anything yet!) but we still have a decent young team, with excellent players full of potential. As much as we`re all absolutely gutted, that`s what football is about; you win some games and then you lose, even if you support a truly great team. I really don`t think it helped going into yesterdays game with so many people (including Chelski fans) saying were were sure to win.

Listen, if Arse win against Citeh today, all the "WengerOutBlud" scumbags from Arse Fan TV will be mouthing off how great they are again.......I`d like to think we`re a bit better than that?

Man oh man...it's taken me till now, Monday, that I'm able to reflect on Saturday.

Very mixed emotions for me. Soooo proud of the team and if we can keep the good players for next season we will be even stronger because adversity is a great teacher. No doubt. A better squad clearly (do remember Lilywhite's we had Rose, Lamela and Winksy out. Imagine if we had those on the bench or playing).

IMHO Poch made an error in using such a bizarre formation. Why? We were bang on form. Why worry about the oppo...let THEM worry about us surely? Dear oh dear I just don't understand!
An unhelpful ref and 4 goals dripping with good fortune all heaped extra misery on the game.
At times we were sublime and both our goals matched the occasion, our play and what we've been doing recently. Poch why tinker??? I love the man and want him with us for the next ten years.

Let's all hope that our best players give us at least one more season where surely success will come.

    COYS!

Makes sense. We've not seen anything of Hugo's form recently, as we've been so dominant of our opposition, so Saturday amplified what form he was or was not in......

Personally I'm a fan of Jordon Pickford at Sunderland, so if Hugo did move on, then bringing him to Spurs, along with Vorm, might just give us a top keeper for the next 10 years. He'd get plenty of exposure to playing at Wembley after all......COYS
