Another Saturday and another....no, wait. It lunchtime this time. Too much normality is surely not right these days.
Spurs welcome Liverpool to the ever decreasing Lane for a match that has not always ended well for us in recent seasons. Not well at all. Last season we saw the first game of Klopp and it was a high intensity affair.

This game though is intriguing for different reasons. Spurs have started okay. In the first game we were slow in the first half but much better in the second half and very unlucky to leave with just a point.
Against Palace we were dominant. In periods we were excellent. Some would have you believe we were poor and wasted loads of chances. In reality, the Palace keeper had a blinder and Janssen should have scored when clean through. But poor? Nonsense.
We have started the season better than last season, Jansen and Kane are already forming a good understanding and Erik Lamela looks up for the fight. At times quite literally!

Spurs will go into this game confident of getting 3 points.

But what of Liverpool? What an up and down start they have had. They went to Arsenal and for the first 40 minutes were quite simply dreadful. At 1-0 down they looked defeated until Coutinho scored an absolute beauty of a free kick. No keeper was saving that. Something for Spurs to look out for against Liverpool is not giving away silly free kicks near the area. Coutinho has a great eye and if we give too much away around the area, he will punish us.
After half time , Liverpool went on the attack and went into a 4-1 lead. Their attacking prowess looked frightening. But in defence they still looked shaky. Moreno is possibly one of the most embarrassing defenders I've seen since, well. Dean Austin, Stuart Nethercott.
I pray Moreno starts because Walker will have a field day against him. He has no positional sense and couldn't tackle...anything.
Arsenal were poor on the day but they managed to get back to 3-4. It didn't show that Arsenal were good, it showed that Liverpool are shocking in defence.
And Burnley knew it. Liverpool had all of the ball against Burnley but they hardly troubled the keeper and Sturridge was kicking the ball about as well as Harry Kane at the Euro's!
But at the back, Liverpool were so poor. They were trying to pass the ball out from the back and Burnley just got all over them. And that is exactly what we must do. As much as Klopp wants high pressing, his team do not look capable of playing against it and if we start on the front foot , we could really do damage to this Liverpool team.

Team wise, I don't see any changes and I think Jansen would be mighty unlucky to start on the bench should Alli start the game.

There is much on social media from some Spurs fans about our transfers or lack of them. As you know, I am no fan of Daniel Levy. Never have been and never will be. I do think he is showing signs of his usual self right now and making a mockery of the club and in some ways undermining the manager. I do think we have done some decent business early this time around and Jansen will be a great player for Spurs.
I feel confident that Poch can get us up around the title again this year but Levy does need to stop this idiocy of putting bids in, taking to deadline day and then not signing any of the handful of player we go after.

Anyway, slight Levy rant aside (and that was nothing for me!) I feel Spurs should win tomorrow and if we go after Liverpool from the off, we could give them the punishment they have coming to them from the Spurs!

As ever, come on you Spurs!!!!

Not sure our performance was excellent Matt, a lot of ponderous possession with not a lot of cutting edge.
Our single goal came from a poorly defended corner in the last 10 mins it could have easily finished a draw.
And thats not to say we played poorly its just for all we do good we seem to constantly struggle to get things across the line. Something that i hoped last season would give us the kick up the backside we needed to improve.

It would be great to get 3 points today and for Janssen to score, this guy is no Soldado he works and does his best to make things happen once he scores i can see a flood of goals from him.

I want to see less of this predictable coming inside from lamela and eriksen its a played out routine that has never brought a glut of goals or chances. Needs freshening up.

The line up today could have been better had Eriksen been put on the bench and Janssen started,Eriksen has done nothing in the last 2 games while Janssen has looked hungry and works his socks off,I hope Poch change's things round at HT,3 Points for us today..COYS..

The key today having now seen the line ups is that we need to get down the right flank. Milner is no left back and Walker could destroy him.

    Coys.

    1st half and Vorms Motm.

Nothing going forward, cant keep any meaningful positive possession.

Need a big kick up the backside for the 2nd half.
