Sorry Gordie I don't quite follow.. I was concurring with your viewpoint.

I have been a fan of Lamela. He was magnificent when we punked City 4-1 at WHL a couple of seasons back.. he scored a frickin rabona from outside the box in a Europa game.. can't say I've ever seen that.. the boy has talent

But after waiting a good year for him to blossom.. then another year for him to convalesce.. I doubt there is much patience at the club for him to find his feet again.

I will disagree on one thing though.. if he does persist it will most likely be because he's Argentinian.. just like the manager.

Baz -Was in Rome this time last year with the Strife and on a near-Arctic day outside the Colosseum , wearing my Spurs woolie hat, got talking to a couple of Roma fans. They were absolutely in love with Lamela and I offered him back (as you do) and they wished they could have him back there and then. It's just a phone call or two away obviously. :)

Just a thought......it is looking increasingly tough to finish top 4, not impossible, just challenging.
I've always felt that averaging 2 points a game pretty much gets you there, only once not being enough over the last 5 seasons.

We've played 24 and my target would therefore be 48 by now, in the mix for sure. We are, therefore, "just" off the pace at 45 points. What that says to me is that despite failing to gain 3 points yesterday, or showing some fragility at times, our recent form has been good enough to push us back into contention.

Sure we've got big games ahead, but win the two at home and get a result at Anfield and we will be live and running again as we strive for that top 4 slot. There is still a long way to go.......COYS

Tough yes, but not impossible. Let's just start beating who we ought to beat and drop any points likewise. Simple, but there you have it. It never works though does it. COYS

Of course a great result for us Liverpool slipping up but lets not forget we are still looking up at the top 4 and were still gambling that others slip.

As far as PL is concerned, let us take one game at a time....Manure. We look for the generally pissed off well paid players like Lukaku and Pogpa to be so upset at Sanchez's £600k pw that they throw their toys out of the pram and play shite...I still think their position in league belies their frailties.......I'm counting on it.

The thing is Felon, that ever since they invented Transfer Windows I've pawed over every bit of news on this player or that player........it must rank as one of the biggest wastes of time in my longish life, bar none. The only thing that has changed recently is that I've conditioned myself into assuming we will bring NOBODY in, then I won't be surprised. Disappointed for sure, surprised, never.
The thing is when I saw that the stadium costs had added a couple of hundred million smackers......then it was only ever going to be one outcome. I do live in hope................

Find it heartbreaking that after two or three years of progressing now we are regressing.
The natural progression would be to try win the league but realistically given our Wembley woes combining with the transfer market aggression of both Manchester clubs and spurs showing next to no ambition it was always going to be a 'must get top four season' if we're to be truthful.
That now is looking every increasingly more unlikely given our league position, the fact that utd City pool Chelsea and goons are all strengthening again knowing the importance of top four and yet again we look to do next to nothing. Linked with this that and every other player but nothing prevailing. Others sign world class players for top money and wages.
Heading into the new stadium and so many clubs making overtures for our manager and players you would think we would be hell bent on making moves to guarantee top 4 and show the likes of Kane Toby Eriksen etc this is a club with real ambition.... But no. Not us.
Meanwhile each time Madrid drop points you feel that inevitable move for Kane will be launched and who would blame him? Not me. I'd be out like a rat up a drainpipe. While the whole club play on the he's one of our own loyalty nonsense.
If we don't get top four which I fear we won't the whole project/philosophy is gonna come crashing down around the man who remains calm and happy with his squad and its mentality. How long before he would follow the exodus started by the sale of walker??
We need two maybe three 40m plus quality proven signings not 10m pound punts.
A forward, centre mid and a pacy winger.
How do arsenal afford such platers as do Liverpool and we cannot..
